{La mia passione per gli Algoritmi Genetici}
I approached one of the Evolutionary Computation techniques by chance, reading an article in the scientific journal "Le Scienze" on the principles and technique of Genetic Algorithms. I was fascinated by this technique that he tried to describe the phenomenon of "life" through the "dry" tools of mathematics and computer science. Phenomenon that is normally the domain of other scientific disciplines such as chemistry, biology, genetics and psychology, which deal with describing "life". The passion for this technique was born immediately after when, almost as a challenge, I decided to verify its effectiveness by applying it to more or less complex problems that came within my reach at that time: from the design of gas turbines to the optimization of pipeline architectures. of electronic calculators, a Calculation of the predictions of the Lotto game.
{Mi avvicinai ad una delle tecniche di Calcolo Evolutivo (Evolutionary Computation) per caso, leggendo un articolo della rivista scientifica "Le Scienze" sui principi e la tecnica degli Algoritmi Genetici. Ciò che attrasse la mia attenzione fu il fatto che questa tecnica si poneva l'obiettivo di descrive un fenomeno naturale, come la “vita”, per mezzo dei principi e gli strumenti "scientifici" della matematica e dell'informatica.
Infatti l'osservazione dei fenomeni naturali è di solito dominio di altre discipline scientifiche come la chimica, la biologia, la genetica e la psicologia.
Il concetto che si potesse in qualche modo riprodurre all'interno di un calcolatore elettronico il meccanismo tipico che sottende alla sopravvivenza di una specie, mi appassionò e, quasi per sfida, cominciai a verificare l'efficacia di questa teoria applicandola ai problemi più disparati che mi capitavano a tiro in quel periodo: così i miei esperimenti spaziarono dalla progettazione delle turbine a gas, alla ottimizzazione delle architetture pipeline dei calcolatori elettronici, al calcolo dei pronostici per il gioco del Lotto.}
