È possibile un nuovo approccio all’insegnamento e all’apprendimento con l’ausilio dei mattoncini Lego, che riesca a preparare i giovani di oggi ad un mondo che è in continua evoluzione? Ci si è resi conto che il buon rendimento scolastico non sempre garantisce il necessario spirito creativo ed innovativo necessario per avere successo nella società di oggi. Correre rischi e provare cose nuove sono le competenze richieste oggi per avere successo.

  Idee su come dovrebbe essere l’insegnamento nel XXI secolo. L’autore Mitchel Resnick è il fondatore del gruppo di ricerca Lifelong Kindergarten del MIT di Boston, e creatore del linguaggio di programmazione Scratch, il celebre linguaggio di programmazione utilizzato dai bambini per realizzare contenuti multimediali interattivi.

   Nella società in cui viviamo la creatività, ossia la capacità di sviluppare idee originali e di valore, è tra le abilità più richieste, ed il modo migliore per impararla e mantenerla è continuare a immaginare, creare, giocare, condividere e riflettere… proprio come fa un bambino. La creatività è un processo pratico che consiste nel mettere in pratica l’immaginazione.

The author of this interesting essay on creativity, Mitchel Resnick, is one of the leading experts in educational technologies, is a lecturer in Learning Research at the Media Lab of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston, where he directs the Lifelong Kindergarten research group and holds the LEGO® Chair. Engaged in the creation of tools and activities that promote creative learning through new technologies, he collaborated with his team on the development of the LEGO® MINDSTORMS® robotics kit and created Scratch, the famous programming language used by boys and girls of around the world to create interactive multimedia content.

L'autore di questo interessante saggio sulla creatività, Mitchel Resnick, è tra i maggiori esperti di tecnologie educative, è docente in Learning Research al Media Lab del Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) di Boston, dove dirige il gruppo di ricerca Lifelong Kindergarten ed è titolare della cattedra LEGO®. The current school system is not suited to meet the needs of a changing society. to be successful in today's society it is necessary to have a creative and innovative spirit, that is, one must be willing to take risks and try new things, to define problems rather than just solving those proposed. Cathy Davidson in her book "Now You See" estimates that about two-thirds of children attending primary school today will go to jobs that have not yet been invented.

Il sistema scolastico attuale non è adatto per rispondere ai bisogni di una società in evoluzione. per avere successo nella società di oggi è necessario possedere uno spirito creativo e innovativo, ossia bisogna essere disposti a correre rischi e a provare cose nuove, a definire i problemi piuttosto che limitarsi a risolvere quelli proposti. Cathy Davidson nel suo libro “Adesso vedi” stima che circa i due terzi dei bambini che oggi frequentano la scuola primaria andranno a fare lavori che ancora non sono stati inventati.

LEGO per cercare un nuovo approccio all’insegnamento e all’apprendimento. I bambini quando giocano a costruire con i mattoncini lego sviluppano un pensiero creativo, perché esplorano, sperimentano, sfidando continuamente i propri limiti.
