Coronavirus effect on electronics events

Many fairs and events dedicated to electronics have undergone changes in dates or postponements due to the Coronavirus emergency. Some events have only been postponed, while others have even been canceled and postponed to subsequent years. For example, I cite below the cases of HannoverMesse, Automatica, SPS-Italia and Mecspe-Parma. The appointment for the 2020 edition of the German HannoverMesse fair was scheduled in Bavaria from 20 to 24 April 2020, but Deutsche Messe has announced that for the first time in 73 years of history, it has been postponed to 2021, compensating the inconvenience with a digital offer, which through the web will however allow the use of information. Messe München was forced to postpone Automatica in December 2020, from 8 to 11. As for Italy, three cases stand out: the postponement of SPS-Italy, which will be held in Parma no longer in May but from 28 to 30 September; the postponement to autumn also for Mecspe-Parma, which is now scheduled, always in Parma, but from 29 to 31 October; the postponement of IoThings-Milan 2020 to October 2020.

{ Molte fiere, manifestazioni ed eventi dedicate all'elettronica hanno subito variazioni di data o rinvii a causa dell'emergenza Coronavirus. Alcuni eventi hanno subito soltanto un posticipo, mentre altri sono stati addirittura cancellati e rimandati ad anni successivi. Cito di seguito ad esempio i casi di HannoverMesse, Automatica, SPS-Italia e Mecspe-Parma. L’appuntamento per l'edizione 2020 della fiera tedesca HannoverMesse era programmata in Baviera dal 20 al 24 aprile 2020, ma Deutsche Messe ha annunciato che per la prima volta in 73 anni di storia, è stata rimandata al 2021, compensando l'inconveniente con una offerta digitale, che per mezzo del web permetterà comunque la fruizione delle informazioni. Messe München, è stata costretta a rinviare Automatica a dicembre 2020, dall’8 all'11. Per quanto riguarda l'Italia spiccano tre casi: lo slittamento di SPS-Italia, che si terrà a Parma non più a maggio ma dal 28 al 30 settembre; il rinvio ad autunno anche per Mecspe-Parma, che adesso è in programma, sempre a Parma, ma dal 29 al 31 ottobre; il rinvio ad Ottobre 2020 anche di IoThings-Milan 2020. }

The processing subsystem of an artificial vision system basically consists of an electronic processor and an algorithm coded in a software program. The algorithm is suitably designed to process the images produced by the acquisition subsystem, in order to give them meaning, that is, to extract from them the information useful for the purpose for which the artificial vision system was built. Depending on the information you want to extract from the images, there are specific processing techniques.

{ Il sottosistema di elaborazione di un sistema di visione artificiale è costituito fondamentalmente da un elaboratore elettronico e da un algoritmo codificato in un programma software. L'algoritmo è progettato opportunamente per elaborare le immagini prodotte dal sottosistema di acquisizione, al fine di  dare ad esse significato, ossia per estrarne da essa le informazioni utili allo scopo per cui è stato costruito il sistema di visione artificiale. A seconda delle informazioni che si desidera estrarre dalle immagini, esistono specifiche tecniche di elaborazione. }

How can an Augmented Reality (AR) application be implemented? We basically distinguish three categories of AR applications, in relation to the strategy followed and the corresponding technical solution. There is a first class of applications which is based on the "projection" of information within the image that takes up the surrounding environment. A second solution is based instead on the "recognition" of a marker within the scene. Finally, a third solution is based on the "position" of the mobile device which is used to use AR technology.

{ Come può essere implementato una applicazione di Realtà Aumentata (AR)? Distinguiamo fondamentalmente tre categorie di applicazioni di AR, in relazione alla strategia seguita ed alla corrispondente soluzione tecnica. Esiste una prima classe di applicazioni che è basata sulla “proiezione” delle informazioni all’interno della immagine che riprende l’ambiente circostante. Una seconda soluzione è basata invece sul “riconoscimento” di un marker all’interno della scena. Ed infine una terza soluzione è basata sulla “posizione” del dispositivo mobile che è utilizzato per fruire della tecnologia AR. }

Automatic machines have become increasingly sophisticated, following an evolutionary process that is making them look more and more like human. The new frontiers of robotics consist in the ability of automatic machines to move autonomously, to collaborate with men, and to assist them to protect their health and improve the quality of their life.

{ La tecnica ha perseguito da sempre l’intento di sollevare l’uomo da mansioni ripetitive, faticose o pericolose. Le macchine automatiche sono diventate sempre più sofisticate, seguendo un processo evolutivo che le sta facendo sembrare sempre più umane. Le nuove frontiere della robotica consistono nella capacità delle macchine automatiche di muoversi autonomamente, di collaborare con gli uomini, e di assisterli per tutelare la loro salute e per migliorare la qualità della loro vita. }
