Summary. With the advent and spread of telecommunication networks, a new way of communicating was born which, unlike traditional methods, such as radio and television, is bidirectional, thus offering users the opportunity to socialize for both personal and professional purposes. This new way of communicating has given rise to a series of new tools, called Social Media, which offer new possibilities to those who manage to acquire the skills. As examples of these new social media we can cite social networking, social marketing, web 2.0 and crowdsourcing.
Con l'avvento delle reti di telecomunicazione è nato un nuovo modo di fare comunicazione che a differenza dei metodi tradizionali come la radio e la televisione è di tipo bidirezionale, offrendo quindi agli utenti la possibilità di socializzare per scopi sia personali che professionali. Questo nuovo modo di comunicare ha dato origine ad una serie di nuovi strumenti, detti Media Sociali, o Social Media in lingua inglese che offrono nuove possibilità a chi ne riesce ad acquisire le competenze. Alcuni esempi di questi nuovi media sociali sono il social networking, il social marketing, il web 2.0 ed il crowdsourcing.

Social Media refers to the set of technologies and online practices for sharing textual content, images, video and audio. The most evident change in the world of communication consists in the fact that the new network-based media, unlike traditional ones, such as radio, TV, newspapers and posters, are no longer one-way. Social Media, through the fusion of sociology and technology, allows users of the network to establish personal or business relationships.
Con Social Media si intende l'insieme di tecnologie e pratiche online per la condivisione di contenuti testuali, immagini, video e audio. Il cambiamento più evidente nel mondo della comunicazione consiste nel fatto che i nuovi media basati sulla rete, a differenza di quelli tradizionali, come per esempio la radio, la TV, i giornali ed i manifesti, non sono più a senso unico. Il Social Media, attraverso la fusione tra sociologia e tecnologia permette agli utenti della rete di stabilire delle relazioni di tipo personale oppure lavorativo.

In fact, with Web 2.0 we mean the set of all those online applications that allow a high level of interaction between the website and the user. Examples are blogs, forums, chats, wikis, media sharing platforms, social networks. All of these applications are implemented through the dynamic Web paradigm as opposed to the static Web or Web 1.0. First of all, thank you for visiting one of the pages of my blog. My name is Giovanni Battista Tateo (shortly Bat) and I am the founder and author of a project of Interdisciplinary Lifelong Learning of which the Tateo~Blog (:::) blog is the means of sharing. I was initially an Information Technology expert, and later I became an electronic engineer, specializing in industrial Automation. I'm passionate about Artificial intelligence, Virtual Reality, Simulation, and I'm an expert in Artificial Vision applied to industrial Automation. Currently, and starting four years ago, I am employed as a Proposal Engineer at Mer Mec S.p.A. (:::) company. Previously, starting in 2004, I was employed, always at the same company, as a Designer of Artificial Vision Systems and Image Processing Algorithms, applied in particular to Railway Diagnostics. Innanzitutto ti ringrazio per aver visitato una delle pagine del mio blog. Mi chiamo Giovanni Battista Tateo (brevemente Bat) e sono il fondatore e l'autore di un progetto Lifelong Learning Interdisciplinare di cui il blog Tateo~Blog (:::) ne è il mezzo di condivisione. Sono stato in principio un esperto di Informatica, e in seguito sono diventato un Ingegnere Elettronico, specializzato in Automazione Industriale. Sono un appassionato di Intelligenza Artificiale, Realtà Virtuale, Simulazione, e sono un esperto di Visione Artificiale applicata all'Automazione Industriale.
