[IT] Reverse Engineering e Reverse Modeling.
Sometimes, during the life cycle of a product, it happens to have to question the project that led to its realization. This can happen, for example, when the intent of the original design needs to be determined and formalized, or when a modernization of the manufacturing process is needed, or when new components, features or properties need to be integrated into the existing product design.
In these cases, it is evident that the logical direction, which normally proceeds from the idea towards the solution, is reversed, because it is required to start from an idea already realized, or from an already existing product (as-built).
[IT] Talvolta, durante il ciclo di vita di un prodotto, capita di dover mettere in discussione il progetto che ha portato alla sua realizzazione. Ciò può avvenire, per esempio, quando occorre determinare e formalizzare l'intento del progetto originale, oppure quando è necessaria una modernizzazione del processo di produzione, oppure quando occorre integrare delle nuove componenti, funzionalità o proprietà nel design del prodotto esistente. In questi casi, è evidente che il verso logico, che normalmente procede dall'idea verso la soluzione, risulta invertito, perché è richiesto partire da una idea già realizzata, oppure da un prodotto già esistente (as-built).
It often happens that the product must be analyzed with more modern methodologies than those that were used for its design. It may happen, for example, that the original project was not carried out with digital techniques, and that these technologies instead are to be used in the re-design, because they are now the norm. Or it may even happen that the original design of the product does not even exist. In these cases it is necessary to operate what in jargon is called Reverse Engineering.
[IT] Spesso capita che il prodotto debba essere analizzato con metodologie più moderne rispetto a quelle che sono state utilizzate per la sua progettazione. Può capitare, per esempio, che il progetto originale non sia stato eseguito con tecniche digitali, e che tali tecniche invece si vogliono utilizzare nella riprogettazione, perché adesso costituiscono la norma. O addirittura può capitare che il progetto originale del prodotto non esista neanche. In questi casi è necessario operare quello che in gergo si chiama Reverse Engineering.
