  Sometimes, the term "Information Technology" is misused to refer to typical Computer Science activities, which basically consist of defining algorithms and encoding them into a form that can be interpreted by the computer.

     But between the two skills there is a clear difference, in fact Information Technology deals in particular with the techniques of creation, storage, transmission, processing, access and security of digital data.

{ A volte, il termine “Tecnologia dell’Informazione” ( “Information Technology" in lingua inglese) è usato impropriamente per riferirsi alle attività tipiche della ”Informatica” (“Computer Science” in lingua inglese), che in pratica consistono nella definizione di algoritmi e nella loro codifica in una forma che può essere interpretata dal computer.

    Ma tra le due competenze c'è una netta differenza, infatti l'Information Technology si occupa in particolare delle tecniche di creazione, archiviazione, trasmissione, elaborazione, accesso e sicurezza dei dati digitali. }

It is very effective in representing the change the world has undergone over the past 10 years. In fact, this statement is reflected in all the most famous web phenomena of recent times, such as Facebook, Amazon and iTunes, just to name a few.

{Il modo di dire "da atomi a bits" che oggi è diventato l'emblema della trasformazione digitale, fu coniato dal noto informatico statunitense Nicholas Negroponte. Esso è molto efficace nel rappresentare il cambiamento subito dal mondo negli ultimi 10 anni. Infatti, questa affermazione trova riscontro in tutti i più famosi fenomeni del web degli ultimi tempi, come per esempio Facebook, Amazon e iTunes, solo per citarne qualcuno.}
