La diagnostica ferroviaria è un campo molto importante per garantire la sicurezza, l'efficienza e la disponibilità delle infrastrutture ferroviarie. Si tratta di un insieme di tecniche e tecnologie utilizzate per monitorare e analizzare lo stato di salute delle infrastrutture ferroviarie, come binari, ponti, tunnel, segnali e altro ancora.

L'applicazione della visione artificiale alla diagnostica ferroviaria rappresenta un grande passo avanti nella gestione delle infrastrutture ferroviarie. La visione artificiale è una tecnologia che permette di acquisire immagini ad alta risoluzione e di analizzarle automaticamente utilizzando algoritmi di elaborazione dell'immagine, in modo da identificare eventuali difetti o anomalie.

Io sono stato impiegato in particolare nel dipartimento addetto alla progettazione di una di queste famiglie di sistemi, ossia quelli basati sulla tecnologia della visione artificiale. Dal mio arrivo in azienda e per 12 anni mi sono occupato dello sviluppo di algoritmi ed ho supportato il dipartimento gare per la redazione delle proposte tecniche.

In seguito ho consolidato il mio ruolo di Technical Proposal lavorando direttamente all'interno del dipartimento che si occupa della partecipazione delle gare. Questa evoluzione della mia posizione lavorativa mi ha permesso di approfondire la conoscenza di tutti gli altri sistemi diagnostici che MERMEC vanta di avere a portafoglio, oltre ai sistemi di visione che avevo trattato fino a quel momento. In questo modo ho avuto la possibilità di estendere la mia conoscenza ingegneristica anche a tutti gli altri principi tecnologici utilizzati dai sistemi MERMEC.
[EN/ Later I consolidated my role as Technical Proposal by working directly within the department that deals with participation in tenders. This evolution of my working position has allowed me to deepen my knowledge of all the other diagnostic systems that MERMEC boasts of having in its portfolio, in addition to the vision systems that I had treated up to that moment. In this way I had the opportunity to extend my engineering knowledge to all the other technological principles used by MERMEC systems.]
