La fine dell'anno è arrivata: questo è il tempo per fare i bilanci ed enunciare i nuovi propositi.

Io non ricorderò certamente l'anno che ci stiamo lasciando alle spalle come uno dei migliori della mia vita. Non è accaduto nulla di straordinariamente piacevole. Per contro, sono accadute molte cose spiacevoli e di cui avrei di buon grado fatto a meno.
Nonostante questo, sono consapevole che il destino avrebbe potuto produrre eventi peggiori di quelli accaduti.
Quindi ... mi accontento.

Confido in un nuovo anno in cui: la generosità prevalga alla ricerca del profitto; la gioia di donare prevalga all'accaparramento cieco delle cose superflue; il piacere di assaporare il presente prevalga all'inseguimento di sogni futuri.

Io, dal mio canto, mi propongo di usare le reti sociali a cui appartengo e condivido con voi in modo più consapevole ed empatico. Quelle reti che noi spesso banalizziamo considerandole alla stregua di strumenti per il passatempo, oppure di palestre per rinvigorire il nostro ego.

Io ringrazio quelli di voi con cui ho avuto modo di condividere idee, problemi, dubbi, gioie, progetti, sentimenti e passioni durante questo anno che volge al termine.

Ringrazio ancora di più quelli di voi che, nonostante sia mancata l'occasione di scambiare una seppur minima opinione in questo anno, hanno mantenuto fervida la fiaccola della amicizia e della stima nei miei confronti.

Sempre più convinto che la conoscenza sia una delle poche cose per cui valga la pena impegnarsi, mi auguro che possiate continuare a contribuire alla mia crescita ed io, umilmente, alla vostra, anche per il nuovo anno.

Mi auguro che il 2013 vi conceda generosamente serenità, benessere ed opportunità di crescita.

The end of the year has arrived: this is the time to make budgets and to establish the new resolutions.

I certainly do not remember the year we are leaving behind one of the best of my life. Nothing happened extraordinarily pleasant. On the other hand, many bad things have happened and that I would gladly have done without.
Despite this, I am aware that fate could produce events worse than what happened.
So ... I'm pleased.

I hope for a new year in which: generosity prevails in pursuit of profits, the joy of giving precedence to hoard blind of superfluous things, the pleasure of enjoying the present prevail in pursuit of future dreams.

I, for my part, I propose to use the social networks to which I belong and I share with you more aware and empathetic. Those networks that we often banalize considering them as tools for the hobby, or gyms to reinvigorate our ego.

I thank those of you with whom I have had the opportunity to share ideas, problems, concerns, joys, plans, feelings and passions during this year that is coming to an end.

And thank you, even more so, those of you who, despite lack the opportunity to exchange a minimal review this year, have kept the torch of friendship and esteem vivid to me.

More and more convinced that knowledge is one of the few things for which it is worth working, I hope that you will continue to contribute to my growth and I humbly yours, for the new year.

I hope that 2013 will give generously serenity, well-being and growth opportunities.

i. The era of corporate social networking has begun

{E’ iniziata l’era del social networking aziendale}

  Globalization, the needs of the constantly connected contemporary world, and also the recent pandemic, are directing companies towards new organizational models that are inspired by the typical tools of web 2.0 and social networking, such as wikis, blogs and other interactive models. In fact, social networks allow you to create a collaborative environment between groups of employees scattered in various parts of the world, allow you to directly involve the customer in the process of designing and manufacturing products, help to keep employees' morale high and to make them effective and pleasant relationships of collaboration.

  By building a social community through which employees, consumers and partners can interact, many benefits can be obtained, among which we can mention:

  - improving the management and sharing of knowledge

  - improving communication between employees

  - business growth.

  {La globalizzazione, le esigenze del mondo contemporaneo costantemente connesso, ed anche la recente pandemia, stanno indirizzando le imprese verso nuovi modelli organizzativi che si ispirano agli strumenti tipici del web 2.0 e del social networking, come per esempio i wiki, i blog ed altri modelli interattivi. Infatti le reti sociali permettono di creare un ambiente collaborativo tra gruppi di dipendenti sparsi in varie parti del mondo, permettono di coinvolgere direttamente il cliente per processo di progettazione e realizzazione dei prodotti, aiutano a tenere alto il morale dei dipendenti ed a rendere efficaci e piacevoli i rapporti di collaborazione.

 Costruendo una comunità social attraverso la quale dipendenti, consumatori e partner possano interagire si possono ottenere molti vantaggi, tra cui possiamo citare:

 - il miglioramento della gestione e della condivisione delle conoscenze

 - il miglioramento della comunicazione tra i dipendenti

 - la crescita del business.}

ii. Web 2.0 is not the devil for companies

{Il Web 2.0 non è il demonio per le aziende}

  The social technologies of Web 2.0 are demonized by companies, but they, if used in the right way, can prove to be fundamental for the renewal and efficiency of business processes. Companies currently look negatively at the disruptive advent of social networks as they believe they are responsible for decreasing worker efficiency. In fact, most companies block browsing on major social networks such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

However, companies, sooner or later, will stop demonizing social networks, and will learn to exploit them to their advantage to consolidate relationships between employees, and improve the company's image on digital media.

In fact, the innovative aspect and the collaborative nature that characterizes the Web 2.0 era can only bring benefits to the team spirit and multiply the potential of companies, but on condition that companies "convert" to "social".

  {Le tecnologie sociali del Web 2.0 sono demonizzate dalle aziende, ma esse, se vengono utilizzate nel modo giusto, possono rivelarsi fondamentali per il rinnovamento e l'efficientamento dei processi aziendali. Le aziende attualmente guardano negativamente all'avvento dirompente dei social networks in quanto li ritengono che essi siano responsabili della diminuzione della efficienza dei lavoratori. Infatti la maggior parte delle aziende blocca la navigazione sui maggiori social networks come Facebook, Instagram e Twitter.

Tuttavia le aziende, prima o poi smetteranno di demonizzare i social networks, e impareranno a sfruttarle a proprio vantaggio per consolidare i rapporti tra i dipendenti, e migliorando l’immagine dell’azienda sui media digitali.

Infatti, l'aspetto innovativo e la natura collaborativa che caratterizza l'era Web 2.0, non può che apportare benefici allo spirito di gruppo e moltiplicare le potenzialità delle imprese, ma a condizione le aziende si "convertano" al "sociale".}

iii. Innovating processes with social technologies

{Innovare i processi con le tecnologie sociali}

  One could try, for example, to integrate the characteristic aspects of social collaboration into business organization processes to improve the efficiency and flexibility of business activities. By integrating social technologies into executive processes, decision-making procedures would be made more transparent, knowledge would be shared, responsibilities and decisions would be dynamically distributed. In this way the company would become less centralized, more dynamic, more collaborative and engaging. It would be able to respond better and faster to the needs of the market and the various stakeholders.

  {Si potrebbe tentare, per esempio, di integrare nei processi di organizzazione aziendale gli aspetti caratteristici della collaborazione sociale per migliorare efficienza e flessibilità dell’attività d’impresa. Integrando le tecnologie sociali nei processi esecutivi si renderebbero più trasparenti le procedure decisionali, si condividerebbe la conoscenza, si distribuirebbero in modo dinamico le responsabilità e le decisioni. In questo modo l'impresa diventerebbe meno centralizzata, più dinamica, più collaborativa e coinvolgente. Sarebbe capace di rispondere meglio e più velocemente ai bisogni del mercato e dei vari stakeholders.}

  To achieve this it is necessary to change the Business Process Management paradigm from "closed" to "open" and "social". The innovation of this approach lies in combining the typical technologies of Web 2.0, such as Facebook or LinkedIn with business management platforms supported by Business Process Management software. This combination is given the name of Social Business Process Management.

Social BPM aims at a transformation of traditional business processes to create models based on participation, sharing and interaction between employees, collaborators and subjects outside the organization (customers, suppliers, partners, shareholders and so on). Social BPM also means creating an interface to manage and execute business tasks and processes more effectively.

  {Per ottenere ciò è necessario cambiare il paradigma del Business Process Management da "chiuso" ad "aperto" e "social". L'innovazione di questo approccio sta nel combinare le tecnologie tipiche del Web 2.0, come Facebook o LinkedIn con le piattaforme di gestione aziendale supportate da software di Business Process Management. A questa combinazione si da il nome di Social Business Process Management.

Il Social BPM mira ad una trasformazione dei processi aziendali tradizionali per realizzare modelli basati sulla partecipazione, condivisione e interazione tra dipendenti, collaboratori e soggetti esterni all’organizzazione (clienti, fornitori, partner, azionisti e così via). Social BPM, inoltre, significa anche creazione di una interfaccia per gestire ed eseguire in maniera più efficace compiti e processi aziendali.}

First of all, thank you for visiting one of the pages of my blog. My name is Giovanni Battista Tateo (shortly Bat) and I am the founder and author of a project of Interdisciplinary Lifelong Learning of which the Tateo~Blog (:::) blog is the means of sharing. I was initially an Information Technology expert, and later I became an electronic engineer, specializing in industrial Automation. I'm passionate about Artificial intelligence, Virtual Reality, Simulation, and I'm an expert in Artificial Vision applied to industrial Automation. Currently, and starting four years ago, I am employed as a Proposal Engineer at Mer Mec S.p.A. (:::) company. Previously, starting in 2004, I was employed, always at the same company, as a Designer of Artificial Vision Systems and Image Processing Algorithms, applied in particular to Railway Diagnostics. ii. Motivation, enthusiasm, involvement and sharing

{Motivazione, entusiasmo, coinvolgimento e condivisione}

Oltre al fermento generato dal dover affrontare un periodo di crisi, un altro fattore fondamentale che permette di inseguire l'eccellenza e diventare competitivi è rappresentato dal fattore umano: motivazione, entusiasmo, coinvolgimento e condivisione sono le parole chiave. La vera chiave del successo di un'azienda moderna è il coinvolgimento delle risorse umane. Avere un prodotto di qualità tecnologica, e implementare un processo che consenta di essere concorrenziali, ormai sono fattori scontati, altrimenti l'azienda non è più concorrenziale. Miglioramento continuo (kaizen) del processo, del prodotto, e dell'organizzazione non sono più sufficienti. Oggi occorre motivare ed infondere entusiasmo nelle persone che lavorano coinvolgendole attivamente nelle strategie e negli obiettivi aziendali.

vi. Something about me, the founder and author of Tateo~Blog Project

{Qualcosa su di me, il fondatore e sull'autore del progetto Tateo~Blog}

First of all, thank you for visiting one of the pages of my blog. My name is Giovanni Battista Tateo (shortly Bat) and I am the founder and author of a project of Interdisciplinary Lifelong Learning of which the Tateo~Blog (:::) blog is the means of sharing. I was initially an Information Technology expert, and later I became an electronic engineer, specializing in industrial Automation. I'm passionate about Artificial intelligence, Virtual Reality, Simulation, and I'm an expert in Artificial Vision applied to industrial Automation. Currently, and starting four years ago, I am employed as a Proposal Engineer at Mer Mec S.p.A. (:::) company. Previously, starting in 2004, I was employed, always at the same company, as a Designer of Artificial Vision Systems and Image Processing Algorithms, applied in particular to Railway Diagnostics. I am a supporter and promoter of Lifelong Learning, Social Networking and Knowledge Sharing by means of the web. If you want more details about me, visit the About Me (:::) page.

{Innanzitutto ti ringrazio per aver visitato una delle pagine del mio blog. Mi chiamo Giovanni Battista Tateo (brevemente Bat) e sono il fondatore e l'autore di un progetto Lifelong Learning Interdisciplinare di cui il blog Tateo~Blog (:::) ne è il mezzo di condivisione. Sono stato in principio un esperto di Informatica, e in seguito sono diventato un Ingegnere Elettronico, specializzato in Automazione Industriale. Sono un appassionato di Intelligenza Artificiale, Realtà Virtuale, Simulazione, e sono un esperto di Visione Artificiale applicata all'Automazione Industriale. Attualmente, ed a partire dall'anno 2016, sono impiegato come Proposal Engineer presso la società Mer Mec S.p.A. (:::). Precedentemente, a partire dal 2004, sono stato impiegato, sempre presso la stessa società, come Progettista di Sistemi di Visione Artificiale e di Algoritmi di Elaborazione delle Immagini, applicati in particolare alla Diagnostica Ferroviaria. Sono un sostenitore e promotore dell'apprendimento permanente, dei social network e della condivisione delle conoscenze tramite il web.
