The charm of a woman who has spent her life alternating periods of lucidity and happiness with periods of difficulty and illness. A genius who has known the sadness of being detained in a mental care home, but who has been able to convert the dark sides of his existence into verses that testify to her depth and class.
Breve biografia e principali opere della poetessa Alda Merini che è una dei miei poeti preferiti. Il fascino di una donna che ha trascorso la sua vita alternando periodi di lucidità e felicità con periodi di difficoltà e malattia. Un genio che ha conosciuto la tristezza della detenzione in una casa di cura mentale, ma che ha saputo convertire i lati oscuri della sua esistenza in versi che testimoniano la sua profondità e classe.

I was born on the twenty-first in spring
but I didn't know that being born crazy,
opening the clods
could cause a storm.
So light Proserpina
sees it raining on the herbs,
on the big gentle wheats
and she always cries in the evening.

Unquestionably Alda Merini and Ezra Pound are my favorite poets. Alda Merini has always fascinated me. In her I have always seen the female alter ego, and recognized the flair, genius and transgressiveness, of two other writers that I adore, as original as they are transgressive: Henry Miller and Charles Baudelaire.
Senza dubbio Alda Merini ed Ezra Pound sono i miei poeti preferiti. Alda Merini mi ha affascinato da sempre. In lei ho sempre rivisto l'alter ego femminile, e riconosciuto l'estro il genio e la trasgressività, di altri due scrittori che adoro, tanto originali quanto trasgressivi: Henry Miller e Charles Baudelaire.
I discovered the character Alda Merini by watching her participations as a guest on Maurizio Costanzo's TV talk show. I was fascinated by her words, her stories, her attitudes, her way of interacting with people. It was easy to recognize her as one of those people who have the ability to live in a dimension to which access is forbidden to many. And from that dimension she was able to tell us feelings and moods that otherwise we would not be able to notice and understand.
Ho scoperto il personaggio Alda Merini guardando le sue partecipazioni come ospite al talk show televisivo di Maurizio Costanzo. Di lei mi affascinavano le parole, i suoi racconti, il suoi atteggiamenti, il suo modo di interfacciarsi con la gente. Era facile riconoscere in lei una di quelle persone che hanno la facoltà di vivere in una dimensione a cui l'accesso è vietato a molti. E lei da quella dimensione lei riusciva a raccontarci sentimenti e stati d'animo che diversamente non riusciremmo a notare ed intendere.
I listened to it and I had the sensation of being looking out of a windowsill to contemplate an extraordinary landscape. Listening to her, or reading her lines, her genius and madness are so well mixed that I can't tell where one ends and the other begins. But that's okay. On the other hand, because it is necessary to explain everything.
La ascoltavo ed avevo come la sensazione di essere affacciato ad un davanzale a contemplare un paesaggio straordinario. Ascoltandola, o leggendo i suoi versi, genio e follia sono così bene mescolate da non riuscire a distinguere dove finisce l'uno ed inizia l'altro. Ma va bene così. D'altronde, perché bisogna necessariamente spiegarsi tutto.

First of all, thank you for visiting one of the pages of my blog. My name is Giovanni Battista Tateo (shortly Bat) and I am the founder and author of a project of Interdisciplinary Lifelong Learning of which the Tateo~Blog (:::) blog is the means of sharing. I was initially an Information Technology expert, and later I became an electronic engineer, specializing in industrial Automation. I'm passionate about Artificial intelligence, Virtual Reality, Simulation, and I'm an expert in Artificial Vision applied to industrial Automation. Currently, and starting four years ago, I am employed as a Proposal Engineer at Mer Mec S.p.A. (:::) company. Previously, starting in 2004, I was employed, always at the same company, as a Designer of Artificial Vision Systems and Image Processing Algorithms, applied in particular to Railway Diagnostics. I am a supporter and promoter of Lifelong Learning, Social Networking and Knowledge Sharing by means of the web. If you want more details about me, visit the About Me (:::) page.

Mi chiamo Giovanni Battista Tateo (brevemente Bat) e sono il fondatore e l'autore di un progetto Lifelong Learning Interdisciplinare di cui il blog Tateo~Blog (:::) ne è il mezzo di condivisione. Sono stato in principio un esperto di Informatica, e in seguito sono diventato un Ingegnere Elettronico, specializzato in Automazione Industriale. Sono un appassionato di Intelligenza Artificiale, Realtà Virtuale, Simulazione, e sono un esperto di Visione Artificiale applicata all'Automazione Industriale. Attualmente, ed a partire dall'anno 2016, sono impiegato come Proposal Engineer presso la società Mer Mec S.p.A. (:::). Precedentemente, a partire dal 2004, sono stato impiegato, sempre presso la stessa società, come Progettista di Sistemi di Visione Artificiale e di Algoritmi di Elaborazione delle Immagini, applicati in particolare alla Diagnostica Ferroviaria.
